For 20 years, CanadaHelps has supported Canadian charities by building technology to increase giving in Canada. To celebrate our 20th anniversary, we are shining a spotlight on charities in Canada.

In honour of our 20th anniversary, we are proud to release a series of videos to celebrate Canadian charities. These charities share a connection to the environment—one of the most pressing issues of our time that impacts all of our lives and everything we do. It also touches so many things, as you’ll see in these films — animals, food security, land use, mental health, culture, and so much more. These charities are restoring Indigenous culture and language, conserving land and habitats, advocating for food security, rescuing animals, providing unique residential treatment of addictions, and more.

Protecting Critical Habitats
On a mission to protect and preserve nature, The Nature Trust of British Columbia acquires and cares for British Columbia’s most critical habitats for vulnerable wildlife and plants. They have protected more than 178,000 acres.


Preserving Culture
A leader in preserving and sharing the culture and heritage of Nunavut, the Pitquhirnikkut Ilihautiniq/Kitikmeot Heritage Society is focused on the revival and preservation of Inuit culture, language, and history.


Conserving Marine Animals
Committed to research, education, and the conservation of marine animals and their habitats for generations to come, the GREMM is committed to protecting the whales of the Saint Lawrence River.


Rescuing Injured Wildlife
Connecting people to nature, Hope for Wildlife has rescued and rehabilitated more than 40,000 wild animals while giving Nova Scotians the knowledge to coexist with wildlife.


Sustainable Food Systems
FoodShare Toronto delivers healthy food and food education to schools and communities. Using a food system they have developed that is sustainable and accessible to all, FoodShare Toronto focuses their work on food justice by collaborating with those most affected by poverty and food insecurity.


Using Wilderness to Heal
Enviros was created when a group of social workers and youth walked into the forest and decided to build a wilderness school. Today, Enviros is supporting youth and families managing addiction, mental illness, Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder, developmental challenges, and more.
