If you’ve been to CanadaHelps’ charity profile page lately, you may have noticed the Imagine Canada Standards trustmark.
We’re pleased to announce that we’re now one of just over 100 charities and non-profit organizations in Canada to receive Imagine Canada’s Standards Program accreditation. The peer-reviewed Standards Program ensures organizations demonstrate excellence in five key areas of operations: Board Governance; Financial Accountability and Transparency; Fundraising; Staff Management; and Volunteer Involvement. To be accredited, CanadaHelps had to show that we were meeting or exceeding the 73 standards set-out as part of this program.
We don’t take the trust of our charity partners or donors lightly. Since our launch in 2000, we’ve worked to earn that trust by acting ethically and transparently, and ensuring our site is safe and secure. We previously received accreditation through Imagine Canada’s Ethical Fundraising and Financial Accountability Code (Ethical Code).
Participation in the Standards Program is an additional step we, and other non-profit organizations can take to become trust leaders within the charitable sector, and give Canadians confidence in the organizations they are supporting.
We are proud to display the trustmark as our commitment to excellence within the charitable sector.
