Hi Greg. So sorry to hear you are having difficulties with your Fundraising Pages. We launched the new site this morning, and are still working through some minor issues related to the Fundraising Pages, but we are hoping these will be resolved shortly. Please feel free to email info@canadahelps.org or call us at 1-877-755-1595 for more information. They will be able to give you more detailed information, and help you with your Fundraising Pages.

I have just completed your feedback survey with exactly this issue. We have an event on 27 Sept and this change has created several issues for us. The primary issue is that expired pages appear in search results – as we are holding an annual event with many expired pages, this is going to cause a LOT of problems – can you resolve?

Overall the look of the revamped site is good – but I feel like I had no warning of the changes (I am not the charity admin but I do have an active GivingPage registered to my email address). Advance notification would have helped me to be better prepared.

The other day I was checking out the site to see how to register our Foundation so we could accept donations. Now I don’t see any of the links to the agreement, etc. I’m not especially computer savvy and am concerned about setting it up properly and quickly.

      Hi Marie,
Signing up to use CanadaHelps for your foundation is a great choice. You can find all the information you need by visiting CanadaHelps.org and clicking on “For Charities” on the navigation bar. https://www.canadahelps.org/en/for-charities/

You can also contact our Client Services team by email at info@canadahelps.org or phone at 1-877-755-1595 and they would be more than happy to help you through the process.

      Hi Melissa,

Thanks so much for letting us know you’re having trouble. This is not happening to most users so we are investigating right away. We’ve submitted this to our technical team, and we will follow up with you by email as soon as possible to let you know once it has been resolved. If you’d like to contact our customer support team with any more specifics about your situation or your account, they can be reached by email at info@canadahelps.org or phone at 1-877-755-1595. Thanks for your patience.

So, I am able to manage my page now, but every donation that has been made through it since the change has appeared as “anonymous” with the personal message omitted — and the personal message was kind of important to the event I set up. I emailed customer support but have heard nothing back. Any word on whether this is an isolated issue, or when it will be fixed, would be greatly appreciated. Everything looks so very nice with the new site, but these “glitches” to my fundraising campaign are frustrating.

       •
  5. Michele Sparling

My fundraising page can be seen when I pull it up on the event list BUT I am unable to manage it? I am IN my account. I went to “Manage My Fundraising Page” and all I get is the LOG IN page again. We are just over one week away from our major fundraiser for the year and this is day 2 of serious issues that have popped up with Canada Helps. Two of our fundraisers had a charity added to their file they did not add. Another can’t be found on our list. While I like change, believe it is good, so far I am no finding this change good, nor is it as intuitive as one would have expected. Help would be appreciated.

      Hi Michele,

I’m so sorry to hear about the trouble you’re having. We are having issues with a small number of fundraising pages (less than 1%). We know how important these pages are to you, and they are very important to us as well. Fixing this issue is a top priority for us and we expect a resolution today. Our customer service team is in the office today and I’d like to have them look more into your specific situation so we can help you through this. They can be reached by email at info@canadahelps.org or phone at 1-877-755-1595.

Me again 😉 I also can’t edit an existing fundraising page which was migrated from the old GivingPages. I am trying to change the “Name of Page Owner” (it is showing my name but I want the charity’s name – I have created the page on their behalf) but keep getting a message when I attempt to save: “There are one or more general issues with your campaign. Please fix to proceed.”
There is nothing on the page to indicate what the problem is, and I can’t spot any missing info.

I set up a giving page prior to the new website. People now are able to see the page if we send them the link, but they can’t donate. If we don’t send the link, they can’t even find the giving page. It asks for an amount but there is no way to enter an amount. What can we do so that people are again able to donate?

I set up a campaign to start when the new site was launched. It is there but it was launched with $5,571 already in it immediately, before we even advertised it? Where did this come from?

     •  Reply
    • CanadaHelps

Hi Chris. Thanks so much for the note. This is a known issue with charity campaigns that have been set up from a previously existing fund. The amount shown is the total from that fund to date. We are working to resolve this issue, so that the campaigns will only show the amount raised within the specific time period. Again, apologies about this.

The new design and functionality is really bad. Lots of items that used to work are not functioning anymore and I have send several eMails to Canada Help without any response.

    Here are the issues:

    – eMails for donations based on Fundraising pages are not working stable. Sometimes I receive a notification eMail, most of the times not.

    – personal messages from Donors are not shown in the list of donations anymore and everything is shown as anonymous without any personal messages

    – You have to go to edit mode of the fundraising page to see the list of donations. Not great.

    Please fix these items ASAP

Although I like the look of the new pages and the ability to add video it appears that most people now are not leaving their name for the Agency or the individual they are supporting and therefore the agency or the fundraiser does not have the ability to thank donors. Because of the way it is worded when people chose they do not want the charity to display their name it also does not let the person they are donating to see it either. Their needs to be an option to let the person know but not the agency.

Since this seems to be the place to report bugs with the new site, I would like to add my own (though the second one has been mentioned by others).

I have set up a campaign under the new “campaigns” . It’s great, BUT there are two serious bugs. These are:

    1. I have selected a particular fund for the campaign. However, on both the front end (when a donor clicks details) and the back end, the donation goes to the General fund, not the fund I have selected for the campaign

    2. Donors appear as “anonymous” in the back-end despite all their information having been entered on the front end. The donor never chose to be anonymous. I cannot personally thank my donors if I don’t know who they are.

I cannot run my campaign because of these bugs. I have already sent this information to info@canadahelps.org as well. Thank you

      Hello Dawn,

I’m sorry to hear you’re having difficulty navigating the new site. To find a charity, you can search by name, keyword or BN number on the homepage. We are still working on implementing a few search improvements, however you may want to consider adding any charities you give to often to your Favourite charities within your CanadaHelps account. From any charity profile page, you’ll see “Add to My Favourite Charities” link above the Donate Now button. You can view or give to any of your Favourite Charities from inside your CanadaHelps account.

If you have any additional questions about your account, or about using the site, or this hasn’t resolved the issue you were experiencing, our customer service team would be more than happy to help you. They can be reached at info@canadahelps.org or by phone 1-877-755-1595.

somebody made a boo boo with the new site. It took three tries. Your site should simply have a donate now box, and an easy locator for the charity. The Charity I chose is shown in such small print, there is no explanation to click on the tiny print name to get to the spot to donate. Got to re think this new design, thanks, Francene C

Thank you for your comment, Francene. We appreciate all feedback and we take it all under advisement when considering updates and improvements for the site.

Have you considered adding charities you give to often to your “Favourites” list? From any charity profile page, you’ll see “Add to My Favourite Charities” link above the Donate Now button. This will allow you to view or give to any of your Favourite Charities from inside your CanadaHelps account and it saves you the extra step of having to search for them each time you give.

If you have any additional questions or feedback, our customer service team would be more than happy to assist you. They can be reached at info@canadahelps.org or by phone 1-877-755-1595.

Please get rid of the “MINIMUM AMOUNT”. I can no longer donate my prepaid debit cards, because my balances are usually between $1-$2.50. I have been donating quite frequently using these small amounts, and it all adds up. If this new “feature” isn’t reversed, I’ll have to stop using this website to donate.

I have been receiving donations from Canada Helps for a number of years (over ten). Each time I received notice of a donation I would sign in and retrieve the donor profile information. Lately, I have been experiencing difficulty. It doesn’t recognize my password and yet when I called your customer service # I was informed that what I was using was correct. I have to say that this person was not helpful at all. It is extremely frustrating when all you want to do is sign on and print. Last week I struggled and then finally there was the information. Today, I am experiencing difficulty again. Perhaps someone would like to contact me to fix my problem.

      Hi Kim,

Thanks so much for your question. When you go to make a donation in honour of someone on CanadaHelps.org, you will be given an option to send an eCard to someone. When making a donation, click “Donate in honour of:” and then fill out their name, and make sure to check off the box below that says “Yes I’d like to send a free eCard”. Once you click the button, “Continue with my donation” you will then be brought to a new page that will allow you to preview and select the eCard you would like to send. The eCard does not include the amount given to the charity.

If you have any further questions about our eCards, or anything else in regards to CanadaHelps, please feel free to reach out to our charity and donor relations team by email at info@canadahelps.org, or by phone at 1-(877)-755-1595. We would be more than happy to help you.
