COVID-19 has significantly affected the lives of millions of people around the globe, and with the shift to virtual schooling, many students, especially those from lower-income households, are unable to participate in online learning. Now more than ever, as access to technology becomes a necessity, there is an evident social gap. The Government of Jamaica has identified a critical need for devices for primary and high school students as a result of schools remaining closed to in-class learning.
Together, the Jamaican High Commission to Canada, the Consul General of Jamaica in Toronto, the Alliance of Jamaican Alumni Associations, and Food For the Poor Canada are collaborating to raise funds to purchase devices for Jamaican students in time for the approaching 2021-2022 school year.
With your support, we can make a significant impact by improving access to education and preventing students from falling behind on their studies as a result of not having the proper tools to participate in online learning. Donate today and help bridge the technology gap.
