In Ontario, Mental health among youth has drastically declined since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Due to the lack of socialization caused by enforced isolation periods, homeless youth aged 16-24 are in need of mental health care and support now more than ever before.
Youth Without Shelter is a fantastic organization providing shelter and support programs enabling homeless youth to live responsibly and independently within our society.
Create for Courage is proud to announce its first fundraiser in support of this organization - the Create for YWS 2021 Art Exhibit! Mental health issues such as trauma, depression and anxiety are common barriers preventing youth from reaching their full potential, and are especially deterring to those without a home to call their own. Money raised from this event will contribute to the needs of youth residents at the shelter dealing with mental health issues, helping them through their fight to independent and stable living.
At Create for Courage we believe in the therapeutic and meditative benefits of self expression through artwork. We encourage all participants to take this time to share their art while collecting donations from family and friends towards mental health care for YWS.
All submissions to the exhibit will be showcased on our Instagram page. We ask for those participating and donating to follow our platform @createforcourage and support the artists of our community.
Your contribution will make a difference in the mental well-being of homeless youth. Together, let’s make a change!
Reminder to those donating: Please specify the name of the artist you are sponsoring in the personal message field.
