In honour of both the First Nations children lost, and survivors of the Indian Residential School system in Canada, we are riding as an act of reconciliation - the recent discovery of the 215 children buried in an unmarked grave at the Kamloops Residential School has laid bare for Canadians the atrocities committed against the First Nations people in Canada. This ride is to the site of the Mohawk Residential School grounds in Brantford, Ontario from High Park in Toronto. The ride will be a total of 215 km - each one in memory of the children lost in Kamloops.
We are raising funds to support the building of a new home for Anishnawbe Health Toronto that is breaking ground on June 21st. This beautiful new community health centre and the home of wellness and healing for the Indigenous community in Toronto - many of whom are survivors or residential schools.
