JR and I have been volunteering with Camp Quality for a few years now and I can honestly say it's been the most amazing time in our lives. And WOW did we miss it this year!
2020 was a year that was tough on everyone. The tough times have hit Camp as well. This year we were unable to fundraise in ways that we are normally do, and this year more than any other, camp needs your help. We need your help to provide a fun filled week for kids who have cancer and blood diseases. Your donation will help make sure that we can provide the children with all of the wild, goofy, magical moments that we make every year. Letting kids just be kids!
The whole week at camp is special, BUT I especially love the end of camp talent show! It might be my favourite part of camp. There are a lot of kids who start out super shy or hesitant to participate or put themselves out there. And who can blame them after all they've been through. But by the end of the week, after all the encouragement, challenge by choice, positive vibes and just plain ol' silliness, suddenly they have found some new friends, practised group dances, learnt a new song or how to play ukulele, or even created some solo standup comedy! My camper sang Roar by Katy Perry with me playing guitar and I couldn't have been prouder of her. Just making it to the end of the week was a huge success for her, but that night topped it. Her smile and the look of pride on her face still light up my heart.
As small business owners, we know and have seen the goodness that individual people can provide with only a bit of support during these very difficult times. We are not asking for a huge amount of money from individuals, instead we are asking for a small amount of money from a huge amount of people.
This year, JR and I ask for you to take a moment, and send $5, $10, or $20 to Camp Quality, and help a kid just be a kid.
No one is stopping you from donating more ;) but as we have all seen over the past months, a little can truly go a long way, and 1 person can make a difference.
Happy Holidays, Seasons Greetings, and please help us give the gift of Camp!
After all, without your help how can we perform T-Swift this summer!?
