In Memory of Jen Cumming

SCELS has helped many children with a special need(s) over the years. Elizabeth Herman was one such child. She was taught by Marlene Stubbins (former Owner/Principal) for three years. Tragically, Elizabeth succumbed to her lifelong illness and died February 17, 1995.

The Elizabeth Rose Herman Fund was established to honour this brave little girl. It is a registered charitable organization. The fund’s purpose is to helps children with any special need or needs and it has been doing this from June 1, 1995 when the fund was first established.

When Jen and I were co-teachers in the classroom (2007-2010), we were the designated classroom that provided special needs programing for children enrolled under the ERH Fund. Therefore, the mission and purpose of the ERH was always near and dear to our hearts till this very day. Years later Jen continued to facilitate assessments, coordinate resources and services for the children benefiting from this fund. She loved how the added resources and support impacted child and their families.
