Two years ago, my beloved Jimmy lost his life to large cell lymphoma. To honour him, last year I started the Jimmy J. Fund. Today, the second annual campaign of the Jimmy J. Fund begins!
The Jimmy J. Fund supports a charity called The Farley Foundation by raising funds in order to help low-income pet parents in Ontario. In turn, The Farley Foundation subsidizes the cost of non-elective care for their sick or injured pets. Individuals who need the subsidy can apply through their veterinarian and, if eligible, can receive up to $1,000.00 in support.
In Ontario, almost 1.1 million jobs were lost due to the pandemic. Already, approximately 2.1 people in Ontario were considered low-income. This time of social isolation has made it more apparent that our pets have a positive impact on our mental health. They deserve to get critical treatment or procedures regardless of whether their parents are considered low-income.
It was with the help of others that Jimmy was able to get the care that he needed. Unfortunately, he did not survive. However, in his name, we can help other pets receive care!
With a one-time donation of $25.00, $50.00 or $100.00, you can support these beloved pets!
