With all of the dreariness going on in the world, I thought I would put my time in January lockdown to good use and raise money and awareness for what I believe is a good cause. The Israeli-Palestinian conflict has been ongoing for decades, and whatever side of the coin you stand on I believe that we should all come together to ensure children in the West Bank and Gaza strip have a safe and happy childhood, free from conflict and harm. For that reason, I am aiming to complete a total of 80km running distance throughout the month of January, with all proceeds going to Project Hope, a community not-for-profit charity based in Nablus, Palestine. Project Hope aims to educate and empower Palestinian youth who have grown up in conflict, and have children’s rights at the forefront of their values. Through educational, artistic and recreational programs, Project Hope aims to empower Palestinian children and youth who have grown up in a context of violence and occupation, giving them the tools they need to access a better future.
Due to the small size of the charity, their main donation link is through Canada Helps, a Canadian donations platform. All sterling and euro will be donated directly to Project Hope via this platform. Please donate if you can, or find out more at the link below:
