Melodie Mensch - Kitchener-Conestoga Rotary Turkey Drive 2020

Dear Family & Friends,

As you may already know, I'm a member of the Kitchener-Conestoga Rotary Club...what you may not know is that I am so honoured and proud to be the President of the Club this year!  We believe that every family in our region should have a nutritious turkey dinner for Christmas. To make this happen, we organize an annual Turkey Drive in support of the House of Friendship Christmas hamper program. The 2020 Turkey Drive goal is to raise $400,000. By all pitching in, we can easily reach this goal. More importantly, thousands of local families will enjoy a Christmas dinner. For every $100 you donate, a family will receive a turkey and a gift card to purchase groceries over the Christmas Season. For every $25 you donate, a Christmas turkey will be received by a local family in need. All donations over $20 will receive a charitable tax receipt.

We need to raise a minimum of $400,000 so that we can;

• purchase 4,000 turkeys
• supply food vouchers for 4,000+ families
• help make Christmas just a little better for over 12,000 individuals in our community

This has been a challenging year for all of us and that challenge is intensified for many of our neighbours that are living on the margin.  Together we can make a meaningful difference by providing much needed food and dignity over the holiday season.
