Music Therapy in Honour of Jan Mau

Jan grew up with music in her spirit and soul and bones!  From an early age Jan sang in her church choir and played the organ.  In school and in the community, she entered music competitions.  In both 1961 and 1963, Jan won First Place in the Greater Victoria Music Festivals.  As she continued her university schooling, Jan majored in Voice Performance.  She traveled with the Simpson Bible College choir and sang in many locations and events across the states.  Upon returning home to Victoria to live, Jan continued her passion in music and singing by joining many choir groups.  One of these groups was Amity Singers.

When Jan married her husband, Ray Mau, together they sang in choirs and for special events.

In 2018 Jan contracted bladder cancer which then turned into bone cancer.  She spent her last ninety days n nights in Victoria Hospice.  Her desire and legacy is to see funding for their Music Therapy Program in order to help and soothe cancer patients in their fight against this disease.

This fundraiser is in honor of her memory and to sustain her passion and legacy in music.
