At least 558 people have been pronounced dead and more than 1,300 remain missing following devastating flash floods that swept through parts of Nepal and Tibet on August 26th, 2026. The Nepal Tourism Board has reported that 25 Canadians are among those still missing. <\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The catastrophic flooding has caused widespread destruction and disrupted essential services including phone networks, electricity and access to clean drinking water. These disruptions are further complicating communications, as well as search-and-rescue efforts, while hindering the delivery of urgently needed humanitarian aid.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Charities and emergency responders are working around the clock to locate missing people and provide critical relief to those who have been injured or displaced by the disaster.<\/span><\/p>\n
