The Butterfly Moon Project is a family project created and facilitated by Colleen V. Cardinal. Along with Toni S. Cardinal, and Elder’s Eric & Margaret Cardinal, they present a grassroots cultural information program focused on Cree Culture.
Colleen and Toni will share History and Balance in Life; Maintaining Well-Being through Self-Discovery, Cultural History, Family Dynamics, and Recognizing “Our Roles to Initiate a Positive Change.”
The goal of the BMP is to lessen the stereotyping of First Nations people, to create balance in relationships, and to build stronger communities.Through our presentations and programs, we wish to provide and share a unique perspective on life as Cree People.
BMP participant testimonials:
“I learned a lot and have taken away many pieces that have required me to re-examine (for the better) how I look at our Aboriginal and First Nations Community.
"Before this, I had very little knowledge about Aboriginal Culture—this has been very informative.”
*The Butterfly Moon Project was awarded the 2013 John Humphrey’s HumanRights Champion Award for New & Emerging Groups.
