On March 5th, The Perley and Rideau Veterans' Health Centre Foundation will host the 2nd Annual International Women's Day High Tea, celebrating Women Veterans!
The High Tea is free to attend, but donations are welcome and encouraged.
The High Tea is an opportunity to honour some of Canada’s foremost pioneers of women in the service, and in particular the forty-three Women Veterans of the Second World War and Korean War who call the Perley Rideau home. You can support the event by making a donation or sponsoring a shawl; if you'd like to learn more about corporate sponsorship, click here. Your giving will ensure that excellent resident care, comfort, and services continue to remain available for the 450 women and men at the Perley Rideau.
One of the confirmed speakers is Major (Ret’d) Sandra Perron, Canada’s first female infantry officer. A Veteran of the famed VanDoos, Perron deployed on two peacekeeping missions in the former Yugoslavia, the second time as an anti-tank platoon commander, which earned her the UN force’s exceptional service commendation. The event will also feature a Silent Auction with exciting prizes, including items made in-house by Veterans in the Perley Rideau’s Creative Arts Studio. All this in addition to a delicious High Tea menu!
Give the Gift of Warmth - $50
You have the opportunity to sponsor a handmade shawl. Each new Veteran attendee will be presented with a shawl. Your name will be shared with the recipient and displayed on the shawl table.
We welcome your support, and thank you for making a difference in the lives of seniors and Veterans!
