AJA 50+'s goal is to improve the quality of life for those over the age of 50, create social and support networks among peers, and reduce social isolation. AJA 50+ is especially important to those going through transitional periods in their lives including finding structure in their lives after retirement, seniors who are moving to Ottawa to be closer to family but have no peer group connections, those in a caregiver role with an aging parent or ailing spouse, those newly single due to a death of a spouse or a divorce. No one is turned away from AJA 50+ programs due to financial constraints. All members are encouraged to take programs of interest. AJA 50+ will provide generous subsidies where needed.
