Aperçu

The Atwater Library’s Annual Benefit Cocktail Party takes place on Wednesday, November 7, 2018 in our beautiful heritage building, which is a National Historic Site. As in previous years, the event will include a fabulous silent auction, tasty smoked meat, and the sensational Dave Turner Jazz Trio.

Our Guests of Honour are Alan Hogg and Grace Hogg of The George Hogg Family Foundation. We are honouring the Hogg family for all they have contributed to Montreal and Westmount over many decades as prominent business owners and philanthropists. The benefit is an opportunity to thank them publicly for their Foundation's longstanding support of our organization, as well as their support of many other worthwhile community endeavours.

Below are pictures of our 2017 event. The middle one shows Guest of Honour Michael St. B. Harrison talking to Westmount Mayor Christina Smith.

Détails

The Library’s annual fundraiser contributes a vital part of our modest annual budget of about $600,000. This year our need for support is more compelling than ever. There are growing community demands for our services plus pressure to spend to conserve and upgrade our 99-year-old heritage building.

À propos de cet organisme

The Atwater Library welcomes everyone and we attract over 100,000 user visits a year to our centrally-located building. In addition, we do extensive community outreach and partner with a many other community groups and schools. We are a registered charity with a mission to foster learning and contribute to the development of the Montreal community. In this respect, we are like the YMCA, Y des Femmes and Tyndale St-Georges Community Centre. We have deep roots in Montreal, yet are a modern, innovative community resource centre. More than just books, we offer courses and workshops to help young and old master technology in the digital age, a state-of-the art computer centre, literary and educational events, exhibitions on literature and history, meeting space for community groups, and much more. We depend primarily on private donations and volunteer service for our vitality, and invite your support as a member, a donor and/or a volunteer.
