This years 9th annual memorial butterfly release will be held at the beautiful Fairy Lake Park located in the heart of Newmarket and central to York Region. Hundreds of Monarch Butterflies will be released at this memorable event, which helps to express our sorrow for the loss of our loved ones and to celebrate as well as honour their memory. 



This special day includes a Walk to Remember at Fairy Lake, inspirational songs and readings, an Optimist Club of Aurora BBQ in the park, Children's butterfly colouring activities and release of hundreds of doves and butterflies.

On Saturday September 17th, registration will begin at 9:00am and the ceremony will start at 10:00am

Bereaved Families of Ontario - York Region is a not-for-profit registered charity, whose mission is to provide volunteer bereavement support services to families and individuals grieving the death of a family member.Bereaved Families York Region provides an array of support programs and groups that are specific to types of loss. The organization provides facilitator training, as well as community education about the needs of bereaved individuals and families.
