It is time for the 3rd annual treadmill challenge! River City Runners (RCR), with our host Lululemon on Whyte, are hosting a 24 hour Treadmill challenge to raise funds for Big Brothers Big Sisters’ Healthy Meals Program. Every dollar raised equals a nutritious meal for a child in Edmonton ($1 = 1 meal!) The meals are served at BIGS after-school programming for children all around the city.
What’s happening? Starting on March 11 2017 at noon and going until March 12 at noon (hence the 24 hour bit) two treadmills at the Lululemon on Whyte will be continuously powered by runners donating their sweat and their cash to the Healthy Meals Program. Hours on the treadmill are available ‘for sale’ - the cost is $200 and all money goes to the BIGS Healthy Meals program (and you get a tax receipt.)
Not a runner? No problem! The weekend will also feature ‘karma’ workout classes in a variety of workouts (think spin, barre, yoga etc.) that you can register for with the set donation amount going again to BIGS. Super hardcore about sweating and for the cause? Challenge yourself to complete the run and all the classes (and be sore, happy and a very good person.)
How to sign up? Go to http://www.rivercityrunners.ca/treadmill/ and select the hour (or hours) that you want to run with us! After you secure your spot, come back to this page and buy your ticket/register to reserve your hour on the treadmill. Then, get running!
We thank you so much and look forward to seeing you at the event!
