WE ARE TOUGH MUDDER!
So what is it? As they say on the TM website: We are 10-12 miles of mud and obstacles built to test your mental grit, camaraderie and all-around physical fitness. We are a team-oriented challenge with no winner, no finisher medal, no clock to race against—just an ice cold beer and a few good scrapes from a day spent outside and free from everyday bullshit. We are for anyone who has ever followed their gut, tried to defy gravity, chosen “dare” over “truth,” taken risks, sought thrills, or is generally awesome at life. Turns out, it's all been training. We are made for this.
Not your typical Tough Mudder venue, the Tall Pines ATV Park feels more like home to Mudder Nation. Owned by the Kent family, it’s arguably one of the messiest natural courses in North America. Featuring 7 ponds, dense woodlands, and a slew of mud bogs and sloppy swamps, you’re going to need to double knot those laces and dig deep to make it to the finish line.
Tough Mudder Western NY is no nature walk, get ready to run through a combo of classic Tough Mudder obstacles and brand-spankin new creations for 2016.
BBBSGE believes every child should have the opportunity to reach his or her full potential, both as individuals and citizens. We believe that by changing the course of young lives we can in turn be changing the course of a community’s future. That it could lead to a reduction in poverty and unemployment. Or to safer schools and neighbourhoods. That it could even lead to change on a broader, more far-reaching scale. We believe that opening a child’s eyes to what is – opens their mind to what could be.
Serving as role models, our mentors teach by example the importance of giving and giving back, of staying in school, and of having respect for family, peers and community. Each time we pair a child with a mentor or introduce a group of students to an in-school program, we start something incredible – a life-changing relationship built on friendship, trust and empowerment.
Witnessing the transformation of a child into a confident, concerned and motivated young person is a remarkable thing. Please consider making a donation to our event and help us see BBBSGE grow in new and exciting ways!
