Candlelighters is pleased to present a one day educational workshop designed just for Candlelighters member families! Join us for an amazing day, gaining valuable insights and information while also connecting with other parents and families.  

Détails

This year our topics include: Current trends in research, Pediatric Pain Management, and helping siblings cope. The workshop combines an engaging and informative education program for parents with Camp Ooch providing fun-filled recreational activities for kids!

Who will be speaking?

Paralympic Snowboarder, John Leslie will open the day sharing his own childhood cancer story with the crowd.

Dr. Sumit Gupta- ALL treatment , research and CAR-T cell therapy

Dr. Vijay Ramaswamy- Brain Tumour treatment and research

Dr. Maru Barrera will share some valuable insights into the ways to help siblings and parents to cope.

Dr. Donna Johnston - Oncology at CHEO and current research

Dr. Lynn Chang- Radiology and childhood cancer 

Dr. Christine Chambers brings the #KidsCancerPain campaign and #ItDoesntHavetoHurt initiative to teach us ways to manage pediatric pain.

Humour is often described as the best medicine and with this in mind we are excited to welcome Susan Stewart, comedian and motivational speaker as our Dr. of Comedy to close out the day.
