Do you relish a great meal? Do you yearn to be informed and meetfascinating
people? Is Carty House an organization you care about and wish to see flourish?
On Monday, October 16th, Carty House is teaming up with the Green Door
Restaurant for its 4th annual Carty House gala.
The Green Door Restaurant is one of Ottawa's oldest and best known vegetarian
restaurants, specializing in high quality food and baked goods made from organic
and locally grown ingredients. This event has become a don’t miss social event for Carty House volunteers, staff, residents and donors. It is also an important fundraiser that has allowed us to maintain the services that our residents depend upon every day.
This year’s program will include music from local entertainers, inspiring words
from a former resident, and a keynote address. With a silent auction that includes
art, jewellery, gift certificates to local establishments and tickets to sporting
events and entertainment venues, the evening is sure to offer something of
interest to everyone!
The gala runs from 5:00 to 8:30 on October 16th at the Green Door Restaurant,
located at 198 Main St. Tickets are $50, with a $35 tax credit.

Carty House is a communal residence in Ottawa that provides transitional housing for female refugee claimants and convention refugees. Carty House offers safety, accommodation and support to its residents as they move through the refugee system and build the resources necessary to live integrated and independent lives in Canadian society. During their stay residents are provided with referrals to education, counseling, and other support services including language instruction, employment training, job search programs and cultural integration programs and activities. Carty House seeks to promote an environment of community living founded upon shared responsibility, respect for diversity and mutual support.
