Aperçu

The Royal Canadian Marine Search and Rescue (RCM-SAR) is a volunteer marine rescue service that saves lives and promotes public recreational boating safety throughout the coastal and inland waters of the province of British Columbia and Yukon Territory of Canada and is part of the national organization the Canadian Coast Guard Auxiliary.

Station-8 Delta of the Royal Canadian Marine Search and Rescue, is an all-volunteer group dedicated to providing Search and Rescue to the waters around South Delta, British Columbia. Trained crews stand ready to respond within minutes of being paged, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

The fast response rescue boat is stationed at the Point Roberts Marina to have quick access to the large and often weather-beaten Strait of Georgia.

The unit also delivers Boating Safety programs to the community, providing Pleasure Craft Courtesy Checks and lectures on boating safety to local groups and yacht clubs in the Delta and Point Roberts area.

The Third Annual fund-raising event - Tour de Duck is scheduled for Saturday, Sept 16, 2018 at Deas Island Park & promises to be a lot of fun.  The Ducks will be sold at various community events throughout the summer as well as the Ladner Village Markets.

Tour de Duck is a fun duck race with 4,500 rubber ducks racing down the Fraser River! The owner of the winning Duck will be rewarded with a fabulous weekend for two at the luxurious Stonehouse Bed and Breakfast on Salt Spring Island. Runner up prizes will include White Spot catered picnic for 30; Dinner for Two, once a month for a year; and many other prizes.

Come buy a duck to support RCM-SAR Station-8 Delta in our mission of Saving Lives on the Water. Tickets are available $5.00 each or a package of five tickets for $20.00.

À propos de cet organisme

The Delta Marine Rescue Society (DMRS) is the non-profit society which supports Station-8. Except for partial reimbursement of fuel for training and emergency calls from the Canadian Coast Guard, RCM-SAR stations do not receive government funding. All funds used in the operation and equipping of the rescue boat are raised by the DMRS in the community of Delta. Volunteer support and contributions are critical.
