The mission of Gilda’s Club Greater Toronto is to provide a meeting place where men, women, teens and children living with cancer, as well as their families and friends, can join with others to build social and emotional support as a supplement to their treatment of choice. Gilda’s Club offers support and networking groups, lectures, workshops, and social events in a non-residential, home-like setting. Gilda’s Club is a non-profit, charitable organization where membership is free. Funding is solicited from private individuals, corporations, and foundations.
Our vision is that all people affected by cancer, whether through their own personal experience or that of a family member or friend, have the opportunity to be part of a free, non-residential cancer support community. Our belief is that social and emotional support is as essential as medical care when cancer is present. As a cancer support community, we celebrate the full range of human expression from tears to laughter. We pursue excellence at all times, and all that we do is built on respect, inclusion, and compassion.
Over the past 16 years, The Gilda’s Club program has proven its effectiveness. By supporting us, you will be on the leading edge in solving a critical gap in care for people living with cancer. You will also be pioneering a new model of community-based support that has the potential to transform health care in our society. Please join in our quest and commitment to provide the best practices of social and emotional support to all people living with cancer.
