CANCELLED DUE TO WEATHER - Tour de Cure - Peg's Ride is a 30 km cycling event to be held in the beauty of the foothills on the Brule Road. Peg's Ride was created to encourage health and wellness through exercise and education, and honour the memory of Dr Peggy Allan. All proceeds of the ride will be donated to the Hinton Healthcare Foundation in support of the Hinton Cancer Program.

REGISTRATION: 12 PM - 12:30 PM
CYCLING EVENT: 1PM – 4 PM
KITCHEN PARTY: 3 PM – 6 PM
COST: $30 MINIMUM DONATION FOR ADULTS, $15 MINIMUM DONATION FOR CHILDREN 11 AND UNDER
The course: Starts at Brule Road (10 minutes north of Hinton on Hwy 40) just past Mountainview Estates. Terrain is rolling with mild and moderate elevation gains until Soloman Hill, which is challenging in both directions. Riders have the option of turning back before the hill. The road surface is paved and in good condition.
Distance: 30 kms (Note: All riders 11 years of age or under are required to turn around at the David Thompson Viewpoint and must be accompanied by an adult for the duration of the ride)
Not a cyclist but want to participate? Join us for the Kitchen Party!! This post-ride Newfoundland style celebration takes place at the Hinton Entrance Airport. Enjoy friends, music and good food!
The Day of: The Start/Finish area will be located at the farthest entrance to Mountainview Estates and will be well marked with signage. There will be a limited amount of parking so please consider carpooling. Overflow parking will be located at the Hinton Entrance Airport across Highway 40. Please use extreme caution at the intersection of Highway 40 and the Brule Road as it is a blind corner. Check in time will be from 11:30-12:30 at the Start/Finish Area.
Safety: HELMETS ARE MANDATORY. All participants must have cycling skills and knowledge of traffic rules so that they are prepared to share the road with light local traffic. Please follow the instructions of our volunteers identifiable by event shirts. Roadside assistance for riders requiring help will be provided.

- cash for gear and kitchen party
Drink stations will be located at the Start/Finish area, at the David Thompson viewpoint and in Brule. Water bottles can be refilled and light snacks will be available. First Aid, Porta Potties and mechanical assistance will also be available at aid stations and are sponsored and staffed by the Hinton Medical Clinic.
Kitchen Party: After you complete the cycling course, please join us at the Hinton Entrance Airstrip for our Newfie Kitchen Party. There will be entertainment, displays and food to purchase. No tickets required for this event but bring cash as draw prize tickets and customized bike jerseys will be available for purchase. Weather permitting, helicopter rides may be available!
