Lead Us To Literacy and Let Us Lead!!!

The mandate of the Excellence in Literacy Foundation is to assist community leaders in the development of sustainable, effective and ethical children's literacy programs. We provide materials, training and ongoing support to partner organizations.

Financial support is available to select programs and organizations through a competitive grant application process.

Our support is offered to low-income, First Nations, new Canadian, homeless and special needs communities.

About THE EXCELLENCE IN LITERACY FOUNDATION

The ELF provides training, materials and small grants to community organizations and schools across Canada in order to assist them in the development of children's literacy initiatives. ELF-supported programs have served over 13 000 children, predominantly from First Nations, new Canadian and low-income communities.

We believe that literacy is the birthright of all Canadians. ELF-supported communities often report illiteracy rates of over 90%! With our support, programs serving children and youth at risk, have dramatically increased literacy rates.
