International Support for Acid and Burn Survivors Canada exists to provide a centre of worldwide expertise in identifying, treating and rehabilitating survivors of acid and burns violence – while helping to prevent, and ultimately see the end of, acid and burn violence in the world.
About International Support for Acid and Burn Survivors Canada
ISABS Canada primary mission is to help create a response in each country with significant attack rates, and thereafter provide financial, medical and administrative support to the growing network of Acid Survivors Foundations (usually called ASFs). In addition,ISABS Canada recruits teams of expert volunteers who treat survivors and offer medical and other forms of professional training to local staff. By strengthening local capacity ISABS works to ensure survivors get the best treatment possible in their own country. Furthermore, campaigning, advocacy and legal work ensures a greater public awareness, the reduction and ultimately hopefully the elimination of acid and burn violence.
