The Perth Polar Bear Plunge takes place each year on New Year's Day, in the Tay River, next to the Perth Legion. Many brave souls show up and start the year off in a truly refreshing manner, raising money for community groups in the process.

The January 1st. 2017 recipient is Lanark County Interval House (LCIH), our only local agency to deal with violence and abuse in Lanark County. With a 15 bed emergency shelter and numerous community outreach programs including a Child and Youth Program and Sexual Assault Support Program, LCIH works with passion and commitment to serve our community.

Join us for a hot breakfast (free for "Plungers" and only $5 for spectators) then a cold dip as team and individuals jump in support of the shelter. Amazing silent auction items to bid on and fantastic prize packs will be given out to the team that raises the most money, the best costume/theme and the most creative jump. Come on out and sponsor a plunger or make the plunge yourself!

At the Perth Legion on Sunday, January 1st 2017 (Breakfast starts at 7am)
