London Housing Registry
London Housing Registry will be hosting a Polar Bear plunge at Little Beach, Port Stanley on Saturday, March 24, 2018.
The LHR provides assistance to individuals and families in the City of London who are living at or below the poverty-line. Quickly finding housing for individuals and families in a housing crisis improves their long term health and housing stability. The goal of the London Housing Registry is not merely to find housing for homeless families and individuals in the City of London, but to assist those in the most need in our community to become re-integrated into society and the first step in that process is assisting them in finding a home. Once they find a home, homeless families and individuals are more readily able to access the educational and medical assistance they require in order to commence their journey on the road out of poverty.
i.) Since 1984 the LHR has assisted over twenty four thousand four hundred and fifteen (24,415) applicants (homeless families and individuals and those at risk of homelessness) find affordable housing in the private housing sector.
ii.) Referred over two hundred thousand (200,000) individuals in crisis situations to community organizations for help.
iii.) Successfully found housing for (on average) 50% of all applicants searching for housing in the private sector.
iv.) Maintains a rental listing database of units ranging from rooming houses, sharing arrangements to self-contained apartments.
