Information sur les billets
Join Bob McDonald, of CBC's Quirks and Quarks for this colourfully illustrated presentation which will journey out to other worlds to see how they compare, then come back to our home world to see how unique and precious it it...the onlyone we know of so far, where humans can live.
Sponsored by NCS, Fairwinds Community Association, and Fairwinds
Our Earth is only one of a family of planets circling the sun, and scientists have found roughly 3000 planets orbiting other stars. It appears that all stars in our galaxy posses planets, which means there are trillions of them out there. But while all these other planets are interesting, none of them is like Earth.
Our speaker, Canada's premier science journalist, Bob McDonald, is the host of the award-winning CBC radio show Quirks & Quarks. He was appointed an Officer of the Order of Canada in 2011, holds 12 honorary degrees, and has the distinction of having an asteroid named after him.
This ticket reserves your seat at the presentation only. To reserve for the Lasagne buffet dinner after the presentation - please contact Fairwinds Clubhouse separately (250-468-9915 or email@example.com).
