Aperçu

DO YOU HAVE THE IMAGINATION TO IMPROVE ACCESS TO MENTAL WELLNESS? WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT.
It is well known that access to mental healthcare across Northumberland County falls well below that of other regions in Ontario. That said there is ONE organization – Northumberland Community Counselling Centre – that is well positioned to transform the very community it serves. Operating for nearly a decade the organization has had to “fly under the radar” to manage the demand for care based entirely on sustainable funding.
One of the most critical areas of the Centre’s service is that extended to children, youth and families and yet service is limited solely due to lack of financial support. You can help change this.
Enter SnowDragon’s Storm. Artist/Playwright/Producer/Director Brenda Sullivan has written a play based on her history of “Bullying”. The act typically starts in our early years and you may have been bullied yourself. The social impact of these acts can have grave consequences or remain within one’s psyche throughout their adult life.
The play addresses this scourge in a fun and engaging way. Brenda has assembled a remarkable cast to play to families across the community. Getting the message out is both instructive and therapeutic.
Maryanna is a wonderful little girl who is being watched over by Sprites and Spirits. “She has a knack for making people happy, she does this with ease without being snappy”.
Brenda is dedicating part of the proceeds directly to Northumberland Community Counselling Centre directing them to use it to underpin their youth and family programs.
Together, we can improve access to Mental Wellness across Northumberland. Do all you can to improve the chances of others.
