Rainbow Faith and Freedom (RFF) is a multi-faith human rights organization committed to ending religious-based LGBTQ2S+ discrimination to improve the human and equality rights of LGBTQ2S+ people everywhere. Decreasing the effects of religious-based LGBTQ2S+ discrimination can, and will, make changing punitive laws easier and improve the lives of LGBTQ2S+ people so they can be who they are, love who they want, and find safe and accepting places to practice their faith. Serving the LGBTQ2S+ population, RFF’s three program areas of activity include; 1) Multi-faith-based Resources, 2) Canadian programming and 3) International programming. RFF’s mandate is to inspire faith communities and families to be safe places for LGBTQ2S+ people by changing the hearts and minds of individuals in Canada and around the world. RFF encourages individuals and communities to recognize and understand that religious-based discrimination against LGBTQ2S+ communities and individuals exists and is harmful. RFF contends that it’s time for various sectors of Canadian society, including faith-based institutions, to become welcoming places for all, not just for some, because exclusion undermines the basic human rights of LGBTQ2S+ persons. RFF is the only Canadian organization that is committed to establishing a society of religious affirmation alongside LGBTQ2S+ inclusion, improving the health of the LGBTQ2S+ community so that no Canadian is left behind. RFF is not a religious organization but a human rights organization that recognizes everyone’s right to social inclusion.
