Raincoast Conservation Foundation is a team of conservationists and scientists empowered by our research to protect coastal BC.
Our Mission
Raincoast Conservation Foundation is a not-for-profit team of conservationists and scientists empowered by research to protect the lands, waters, and wildlife of coastal British Columbia.
We use rigorous, peer-reviewed science and community engagement to further our conservation objectives. We call this approach ‘informed advocacy’. As an evidence-based, conservation science organization (science ENGO), that operates a research lab, a conservation genetics lab, and a research/sailing vessel, we are unique in Canada.
Our flagship projects focus on the habitat and food supply needs of wolves, bears, killer whales, and other marine animals. Salmon allocation for grizzlies and wildlife is central to our work.
To accomplish our goals, Raincoast partners and collaborates with numerous academic and research institutions, as well as First Nations, local communities, and NGOs. Together with our partners, we also purchase commercial trophy hunting rights to end the trophy hunting of bears, wolves, and other carnivores.
Your support makes it possible to protect wild salmon, coastal wildlife, and ecosystems.
