The Ride (and Hike) for the Rouge is an annual 4.5km hike & 25km or 50km ride fundraising event put on by the Rouge Valley Foundation & Rouge Valley Conservation Centre. This event provides supporters of the Rouge Valley Conservation Centre & the Rouge watershed the opportunity to meet other members of the community, to enjoy the Rouge hiking trails & surrounding area & to raise funds to support the programs & services offered at the Rouge Valley Conservation Centre, including raising awareness & understanding of the local environment, environmental programs for school & community groups, day camps & weekend programs for children and youth, special events for the community & ecological monitoring & research.

How to register:

1. Select your registration type above. Options include:

- Ride for the Rouge Individual

- Ride for the Rouge Group (each group member must register individually; groups must consist of 5 or more members)

- Ride for the Rouge Family (2 adults & up to 4 children under 18 years of age)

- Hike for the Rouge Individual

- Hike for the Rouge Family (2 adults & up to 4 children under 18 years of age)

2. Once you have purchased your ticket, you will be emailed an activation code to activate your registration & to create your fundraising page in order to collect pledges online. You must activate your registration using the code provided.

All participants must check-in upon arrival at the Rouge Valley Conservation Centre before the Ride and Hike begin.

Event information:

Date: Saturday May 12, 2018

Time: Registration opens at 9 a.m.; Ride and Hike start at 10 a.m.

Location: Rouge Valley Conservation Centre, 1749 Meadowvale Road, Toronto, ON M1B 5W8

Registration & Pledge Information

You can register online or in person as an individual, family or group (must have 5 or more members). Please note if paying in person, we accept cash or cheques only and all cheques should be made payable to the “Rouge Valley Foundation”.

Paper Pledge Forms and Pledges (cash or cheques) can be dropped off when you sign in on May 12th. Individuals who wish to make a contribution to the Rouge Valley Foundation but prefer not to raise pledges may make a tax receiptable personal donation with their registration.

Each individual, whether they are part of a family or group, must be registered and sign the waiver. All registered participants will receive a BBQ lunch. All participants who raise $250 or more will receive a FREE quick dry t-shirt on the day of the event. NEW this year, Families that collect pledges can receive up to 50% off of one week of summer day camp for one child. Here’s the breakdown:

  • Raise $350 in pledges, receive 50% off one week of Summer Day Camp for one child
  • Raise $250 in pledges, receive 30% off one week of Summer Day Camp for one child
  • Raise $150 in pledges, receives 10% off one week of Summer Day Camp for one child

25km or 50km Ride for the Rouge registration information:

- Individual: $40 per person

- Family: $70 per family (consists of 1-2 adults and up to 4 children under 18 years of age)

- Group: $35 per person (each group must have a minimum of 5 individuals; include your group name when registering; each group member must register individually)

4.5 km Hike for the Rouge registration information:

- Individual: $30 per person

- Family: $60 per family (consists of 1-2 adults and up to 4 children under 18 years of age)

**Purchase your tickets by April 30th for Early Bird pricing.**

Tax receipts will be issued by CanadaHelps immediately after registration. All tax receipts will be issued for the registration fee amount less $5 per person as per CRA tax receipt advantage guidelines.

There are three ways to register:

  1. Online: To register online, purchase your ticket above. 
  2. By mail: Visit rvcc.ca for complete details and to download your registration form, pledge form and wavier. Mail your completed forms and cheque by May 1, 2018. Pledge forms and pledges (cash or cheques) can be dropped off when you sign in on May 12th. 
  3. In person: Bring your completed forms, pledges and cash or cheque made out to “Rouge Valley Foundation” to the Registration Table on May 12th.
