Join us, in partnership with The Community Legal Clinic - Simcoe, Haliburton, Kawartha Lakes and the Mediation Centre, for a one-and-a-half day interactive training on trans people and legal issues.
This training is geared towards services providers and leaders in the trans community.
Day 1 - October 12th
Trans Inclusivity Training: A highly interactive empathy building workshop on trans inclusivity. We will cover terminology, statistics, better understand the different ways people can transition, participate in empathy building exercises, and better understand microaggression.
Noon - 1pm
Afternoon1pm-1:15pmCommunity Voice: Trans Community Member shares their personal experiences.
1:15pm - 2pm
Trans Inclusivity Training Continued
Day 2 - October 13
10am - 11am
Trans Inclusivity Training Continued.
Trans People and Human Rights Training: Here we will learn about the legal issues that trans people are dealing with and how to identify them (employment, housing, income support, family law etc) in the work we do.
Noon - 1pm Catered Lunch
Community Voice: Trans Community Member shares their personal experiences
1:15 - 2:15pm
Trans People and Human Rights Training Continued
2:15pm - 4pm
Case Studies: Let's put the knowledge we learned from day 1 into practice. Here we will apply the knowledge we gained from both the trans inclusivity training as well as the trans people and human rights training.
