Join us, in partnership with The Community Legal Clinic - Simcoe, Haliburton, Kawartha Lakes and the Mediation Centre, for a one-and-a-half day interactive training on trans people and legal issues. This training is geared towards services providers and leaders in the trans community.


Day 1 - September 14th

Morning: 10am-12:30pm

Trans Inclusivity Training: A highly interactive empathy building workshop on trans inclusivity. We will cover terminology, statistics, better understand the different ways people can transition, and participate in empathy building exercises. We will also hear from trans community members about their experiences in Simcoe County.

Lunch: 12:30- 1:30pm Catered Lunch 

Afternoon: 1:30pm-4pm Trans People and Human Rights Training. Here we will learn about the legal issues that trans people are dealing with and how to identify them (employment, housing, income support, family law etc) in the work we do. 

Day 2 - September 15th

Morning: 10am - noon Case Studies: Let's put the knowledge we learned from day 1 into practice. Here we will apply the knowledge we gained from both the trans inclusivity training as well as the trans people and human rights training.

Lunch: Noon - 1pm Catered Lunch

Afternoon: 1-2pm Case Studies Continued and Session Wrap up
