par THE OLIVE BRANCH OF HOPE
The Olive Branch Of Hope is a breast cancer support organization with a strong focus on individuals and families of African-Caribbean Heritage, who are often diagnosed at a much younger age than other ethnicities with a more aggressive form of breast cancer.
Our Annual Walkathon raises much needed funds for targeted research, to increase awareness and provide support to patients, their friends and family members, as well as those who wish to learn more about this disease.
Did you know that:
Women of African Ancestry are at a higher risk of developing breast cancer and will probably die from it before the age of 40?
Women of African Ancestry are diagnosed with a more aggressive type of breast cancer than others?
Researchers have found that there is a genetic mutation linked to this aggressive type of breast tumor, but more research is needed to find out WHY it is related to this specific group?
Do you see the need to join us for this Walkathon to raise funds for more targeted research that could save our own lives?
