Exploring philanthropy's role in raising the voices of others.

Join us at Hot Docs Cinema for an immersive and reflective evening where we'll watch Unarmed Verses, the acclaimed winner of the Best Canadian Feature Documentary Award at Hot Docs 2017. Set in Toronto, this film speaks to the realities of neighbourhood revitalization and the importance of understanding the experiences and perspectives of those most impacted yet often not seen or heard.

The themes in this quiet yet powerful film hit home for us. Toronto Foundation’s 2nd strategic goal is: to lead by raising the voices of others. We’ll explore this further in a post-screening discussion with special guests.

The event will run from 5:30 - 8:30 PM, starting with a reception and refreshments and with the film beginning at 6:30 PM. We’ll also be hosting an afterparty nearby from 8:30 PM onwards for those who want to continue the conversation.

Please reach out to Nicole Lilauwala at to request any additional requirements you may have in order to fully participate in the event.

*Please note, this is a private event only open to members of the Vision 2020 cohort and other Toronto Foundation invited guests.
