My Fundraising Story
I, Ivy Smerchinski, am a grade 12 leadership student at KCI. This year, although it is different, my teacher was determined to still assign projects which would positively impact my school and the KW community. So, she assigned a passion project. Ever since I was little I have always been incredibly curious and loved learning all sorts of new things. It only seemed appropriate to pursue my passion for learning and see how I can help other children share my passion as well. I will be raising money for children who are: non-verbal, verbal but difficult to understand and whose disability impacts their written communication skills. KidsAbility's team of language therapists, occupational therapists, communicative disorder assistants, rehabilitation technologists, special education liaison teachers and volunteer engineers are all working together to make communication a reality for many children who face challenges to do so. Donations will go towards purchasing assistive communication devices to lend out to families with children with disabilities that affect their ability to communicate. Your donation can help children overcome frustration, isolation, and loneliness and open up a whole new world of possibilities to explore. Thank you for any support you are able to offer!
