Did you know that breast cancer is the most common cancer among Canadian women and is the second leading cause of death from cancer in Canadian women? It is estimated that over 27,000 Canadian women will be diagnosed with breast cancer each year.
Help us tell breast cancer to take a hike!
In an effort to support the strong women that have been diagnosed, fighting, have beaten or have lost their lives to breast cancer, including those within our family, our team (Sarah and Deb Vangalen and Jessica Nadon) have decided to hike from sunrise to sunset on June 21, the longest day of the year. This 56.3 km solstice hike will allow us to complete the Dufferin Hi-Land Bruce trail section in one day.
The purpose of the Hi-Land Hike for Hockers is to raise money and awareness for breast cancer, a disease that affects 1 in 8 woman in their lifetime.
Please support our fundraiser by donating to the Breast Cancer Society of Canada.
Thank you and know that with each step we take, we are one step closer to a world without breast cancer.
