For those of you who don't know me, my name is Rachel and my dear friend Triona lost her Mum Caroline to cancer in March. Caroline was a personality and a half. A woman who spoke her mind, was the definition of feistiness and had endless love and pride for her family and home.
In her Mum's memory, Triona will undertake the momentous task of hiking the Seven Summits of the Mourne Mountains, near her home in Ireland on June 19th. The hike is 29km and a massive 2,495m of ascent/descent!
Unfortunately due to the pandemic, I can't be there on the day to support Triona and walk by her side, so I, along with a group of friends here in Vancouver, have decide to do our own challenge on the North Shore Mountains on the same day in Caroline's memory and in support of Triona's efforts. We will be completing the three peaks (easy in comparison to seven right!?) consisting of Mt. Seymour Peak, St. Mark's Summit and the Grouse Grind.
All money raised here will go to the BC Cancer Foundation so any support you can give will be much appreciated!
On the day, both in the Mourne Mountains in Ireland, and on the North Shore Mountains of Vancouver, may we be blessed with Caroline measures of pride, stubbornness and determination to reach our goal and share a toast in her honor.
