I am Connor. I am 7 years old and live in BC, Canada. I walk to school every day because I want to help the Earth.
Connor has loved nature and being outside all his life - we love to go camping, for hikes, and for bike rides. He decided he wanted to walk to and from school every day (1 km each way) so that we didn't drive the car so much.
Connor also loves math, so we did a calculation: 177 days of school in the year x 2 km each day = 354 km/year. For our family car, this will save about 40L in fuel or about 90 kg of CO2 gas.
Inspired by learning about Terry Fox, Connor came up with the idea of using his walk to raise money. Connor is choosing to support the Sierra Club BC because they want to work with communities to change the story of climate change in a way that respects all beings.
Connor says: You don't have to give money if you don't want to. You could walk or bike more!
Connor's mom and dad have pledged to match whatever Connor raises up to $500 and Connor's dad's company will match whatever amount we give.
Connor asks that you please share with your friends and family!
