It has been twenty years since Kateri Native Ministry started its journey towards Healing and Reconciliation and we continue that tradition this May. Our founder John Corston experienced the healing touch of our Lord and during the conference we will share our calling and propel ourselves to move forward and bring the Good News to our people.
“Go, therefore, make disciples of all nations.” (Mt 28; 19)
These words call each one of us to spread our experience of God’s love.
Our special guest for the conference will be Sr. Ann Shields, internationally renowned speaker, author of numerous books on Catholic spirituality and host of the popular daily radio program Food for the Journey.
Sr. Ann was awarded the Benemerenti Medal by Pope Benedict XVI in September of 2012 for service to the Church and will be discussing the power of healing.
FRIDAY, MAY 18, 2018
Friday evening is the traditional opening of the Conference. After dinner we start with the Sacred Fire that burns throughout the weekend. With the Grand Entry and traditional drumming, we will proceed to the hall. An opening remark will be given by the Executive Director followed by logistics and schedules. Fr Hasina, SJ, will do the opening address and the evening will end with light refreshments.
SATURDAY, MAY 19 2018
We welcome the day with a traditional Sunrise Ceremony at the sacred fire. Afterwards, we will celebrate mass and people will prepare themselves to open their hearts to God’s grace. In the evening will be the highlight of the whole conference: the Healing Service.
SUNDAY MAY 20, 2018
Since Kateri Native Ministry bridges two distinct cultures and traditions, we will spend the closing day coming together to share their diverse experiences of Faith and the Conference. The weekend will end with celebration and thanksgiving in the form of a Grand Entry leading to a Mass. We depart as friends, ready to go forth as disciples in our respective communities.
