Overview

The year 2015 was a very good year for The Concerned Kids Charity of Toronto and its “Chair”-ish the Kids Mix & Mingle Fundraiser that raised a total of $25,893 in its first year, thanks to our many donors and supporters. We hope to exceed that goal on Thurs Sept 22, 2016 when the charity will hold its 2nd annual “Chair”-ish the Kids Mix & Mingle Fundraiser, at the Rosehill Venue & Lounge (6 Rosehill Ave & Yonge) with a target to generate $35,000 - $40,000.  Sumptuous gourmet food provided by Encore Foods with Elegance.

The spacious and elegant relaxed atmosphere of the Rosehill Venue & Lounge will allow our 200+ guests to interact freely with one another while enjoying the entertainment plus bidding for one or more of our unique Live & Silent Auction Items.  We have elevated the auction electronic bidding process this year (givergy-events.ca), making it more fun and engaging for all patrons attending the event, thus allowing for bigger revenues for the charity.

Live & Silent Auction items will include a collection of one-of-a-kind uniquely designed chairs, artwork by Margaret Spataru and other must have items, plus elaborate Live Auction packages, such as: exotic vacations for two and much more.

About This Charity

The Concerned Kids educates children through the uniquely engaging art of interactive puppetry, empowering young people to make smarter and kinder choices, to spur dialogue, action & create positive change in their communities, further enabling schools and neighbourhoods to become a safer place to live, learn and play. The puppets allow for a non-threatening manner of engagement in a factual, unbiased, entertaining, child-centered way that helps to build problem solving abilities, learning alternatives to bad or unsafe behaviour (right from wrong) and teaching students to act with kindness and respect that will help prevent problems before they happen. Our program roster addresses topics on: BULLYING & SCHOOL SAFETY; MENTAL HEALTH EDUCATION (Depression, Self Esteem, Anger Management and Effective Communication); MAKING THE RIGHT CHOICES (prescription & street drugs, alcohol & tobacco awareness); PEER PRESSURE; HEALTHY KIDS; CHILD ABUSE AWARENESS (physical, sexual, emotional & neglect).
