Our Mission

AURA is dedicated to the performance and promotion of fine choral music in the Okanagan Valley of British Columbia.

About AURA CHAMBER CHOIR SOCIETY

Formed in 1979, the choir is directed by it's founder, internationally acclaimed composer Imant Raminsh. AURA is a member of the BC Choral Federation.

The choir performs primarily in the Okanagan Valley of British Columbia.

Repertoire spans the Renaissance to the twenty first century and includes motets, choral art songs, folksongs and spirituals as well as extended major works with orchestra and professional soloists.

Major works include Bach's B-minor Mass,St. John Passion and Christmas Oratorio, Beethoven's Missa Solemnis, Brahm's German Requiem, Rachmaninoff's Vespers, Handel's Israel in Egypt and Messiah, Mozart's Requiem Mass and Mass in C, Schuberts Mass in G as well as the directors own compositions including Magnificat and Missa Brevis performed in Carnegie Hall in 2006.
