The BuckingJam Music Foundation (BJP) is a not-for-profit foundation that operates BuckingJam Palace, a sixty-seat concert venue in a historic 1910 home in Calgary, Alberta.  The initiative was started to address a critical lack of affordable performance, rehearsal and recording space for musicians, particularly those in the improvisational music community whose concerts are best presented and experienced in an intimate, listening environment.  We are committed to paying musicians fairly and treating them with respect.

Our low overhead allows us to return one of the highest pay-outs in North America to musicians for a club-sized venue.  We primarily host touring Canadian musicians who play original music.  We strive for diversity and gender parity in all our programming and in our board and Creative Committee.  

In addition to hosting concerts, we create on-line educational and artistic programming; provide food and transport to touring musicians; offer rehearsal space and recording facilities; and host receptions and special events.
