Blooming House is dedicated to improving the lives of women experiencing homelessness on PEI. It operates as a low-barrier, harm reduction, 16 hour overnight shelter for women and those identifying as female experiencing homelessness. We believe in a person-centered approach and strive to provide dignity, care and shelter for our guests.

Blooming House has operated an 8 bed shelter since 2019. To date, we have provided shelter to over 200 women. We are open everyday from 4pm-8am.

In addition to providing emergency shelter, we provide transportation for women to our facility, food for dinner and breakfast, access to new clothing, hygiene products and counseling with our overnight staff. Through the work of our Resource Coordinator we have transitioned almost 20 women to housing and continue to support them after they leave the shelter.

Blooming House has the ability to collaborate with community and provincial organizations at varying levels. Blooming House's Operations Manager and Resource Coordinator participate on a team of professional support providers that include members of other non-profits and government organizations. Our core staff dedicate their time to be available to women, supporting women who use Blooming House and assisting those who may need to access the shelter.
