Breakwaters are structures designed to provide safe harbour by absorbing the impact of powerful waves. To us, waves represent the structural forces that contribute to the causes and perpetuation of youth homelessness – forces that can make these young people feel excluded, exhausted, and alone.

Our aim is to interrupt these structural forces and facilitate socioeconomic inclusion and a sense of belonging for young women who have experienced homelessness. We do this through the provision of health care, rent subsidies, and education bursaries.
