In 1968, Bridge Street Church was the recipient of a bequest from the estate of Charlotte Sills.  As a result, in 1973, the congregation established the Bridge Street United Church Foundation.  The Foundation is composed of all members of the BSUC congregation and is administered by a Board of Directors, which the members of the Foundation elect.  Traditionally, the annual income from the invested capital has provided outreach assistance (in the local community, nationally, and throughout the world) and assistance to the church for capital projects and operations.  Currently, however, a moratorium has been placed on grants to outside agencies in order to respond to the needs of the church locally.  This moratorium will remain in place until further notice.
