The Education Trust Fund Committee is proud to be part of CFUW Saanich Peninsula’s legacy of support for women’s education. The Committee is honoured to invest, administer and distribute the funds received each year from investment earnings, donations, fundraising projects and bequests from Club members and their families.
Just 30 years old in 2025, the Club has raised sufficient funds to develop 4 endowments – totalling approximately $135,000. Recently CFUW Saanich Peninsula was gifted $50,000 from the family of Myrna Holden, a founding member, which is held in trust to distribute 10 annual awards of $5,000 to the University of Victoria, Faculty of Engineering and Computer Science.
The Education Trust Fund is currently entrusted with a healthy balance of funds in its bank account, monies raised by a myriad of projects our “champions” create. These funds are partially distributed in the form of 4 annual secondary school graduation scholarships. Howevery, in 2026 there were sufficient funds to give two awards of $1,500 at each of the 4 secondary schools in School District 63 on the Saanich Peninsula. A portion of these funds were also committed to 5 annual awards of $2,000 each for the Women in Trades Program at Camosun College.
Responses from award recipients indicate these champions’ efforts have the very powerful impact of fueling both dreams and futures.
